The IRS & Your Worldwide Income


If you’re a US person and you have either US domicile or you’re a citizen here, the IRS expects you to report your worldwide income, how much of that you can reduce based on tax laws. That’s a different conversation, but in terms of reporting requirements. You are required to report your worldwide income, your global income.

I like to coordinate with foreign tax professionals on each specific client to see, well, for example, this client in Italy wanted to utilize less of a tax refund due to the speed that they’d be able to get the refund because they’re investing that money in other areas. So it’s not just a one size fits all.
