PLR’s Flawless Relationship with the IRS
I have a flawless reputation with the IRS over 20 years, and I’ve built a really strong reputation with several of the same agents that I’ve dealt with year after year after year, and that helps to push the process along. The agent isn’t defensive. They know who I am. They’ve worked with me before. They know I’m a friendly person and it does help the client.
I would also say that I’ve been in situations where I worked with an IRS agent on an audit. Three years later, I got a call from that same agent working in a completely different department that I wasn’t even seeking, and he said, “Hey Karen, I saw your name come up on this collection due process. I just wanted to let you know. I’m gonna send you over to. So and so, and they’re gonna help you, and this is the phone number.”
And if I didn’t have that relationship with him and I didn’t have the reputation that I have, I could have just been going round and round and round with the IRS because that is typical to go round and round and round.
